Challenge
Lithuania’s welding sector consists largely of small and medium-sized companies. None of them alone has either the training volume or the administrative capacity to prepare and run an EU competence project, while qualification requirements for welding work are strict and regulated. A sector association was the only applicant able to consolidate the demand into a single project.
Solution
ProBaltic Consulting carried out a company needs survey and analysis, engaged welding sector experts and prepared the application under the “Kompetencijos LT” measure (09.4.3-ESFA-K-814). During implementation the company identifies learning needs, helps form target training groups, prepares technical training specifications for service providers, advises the association on public procurement and project administration, and coordinates the achievement of monitoring indicators.
Project scope
The project delivers welding qualification improvement programmes and training for companies serving the welding sector. 726 welding technicians and electrical engineering staff are to be trained, combining theoretical and practical methods. Skills strengthened include welding strain straightening, weld quality control, material selection and process optimisation, marking of drawings and welds, installation of electrical equipment, and production efficiency improvement.
