UAB AR Maistas, a Lithuanian food industry company, secured approximately €4.1 million across 13 projects with ProBaltic Consulting between 2016 and 2026 — one of Lithuania’s most consistent food-industry modernisation and decarbonisation stories.
The challenge
Food production is energy-intensive: baking, packaging and refrigeration drive high energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions. A growing company needed a coherent long-term investment programme — not a series of disconnected one-off projects.
What we did
Over nearly a decade, ProBaltic Consulting acted as the group’s standing funding partner: selecting the right instrument for each investment stage, preparing the applications and administering the projects. The funded portfolio spans energy efficiency (€1.45M), two technology lines, production equipment, solar power plants, energy storage, a switch away from fossil fuels, production digitalisation and packaging design.
The pattern that worked
Each completed project strengthened the next application: energy audits justified efficiency investments, efficiency projects made renewable generation bankable, and a modernised production base qualified for digitalisation measures. Thirteen projects over ten years is not luck — it is a funding roadmap executed in order.
The result
Roughly €4.1M of non-dilutive financing transformed the company’s production: lower energy intensity, on-site renewable generation with storage, fossil-fuel substitution and digitalised processes. The case is the reference example of what a long-term funding partnership delivers versus one-off applications.
