UAB Ostara and UAB Ostara Lab — a Lithuanian deep-tech group — won three R&D projects totalling €194,987 with ProBaltic Consulting for an autonomous mobility development programme.
The challenge
Autonomous vehicle development requires a long experimental development cycle well before commercialisation — from concept through functionality research to remote-controlled prototypes. As a start-up group, Ostara needed R&D financing that would not dilute ownership at the earliest, lowest-valuation stage.
What we did
ProBaltic Consulting sequenced three complementary projects rather than one oversized application: the core autonomous vehicle development project, supporting functionality research, and an innovation development project through Ostara Lab. We prepared the R&D applications — including the TRL (technology readiness level) argumentation that anchors autonomous-mobility work to fundable development stages — and administered the projects, using Eksperimentas LT and related innovation instruments.
Why sequencing beats one big application
Three scoped projects across two group companies spread risk, matched each work package to the instrument that funds it best, and built a track record with every award. For deep-tech start-ups, this portfolio approach is consistently more reliable than betting everything on a single large application.
The result
Three funded projects and €195K of non-dilutive financing carrying the group’s autonomous mobility programme from concept toward working prototypes — with ownership intact.
