UAB Mogemas, working with ProBaltic Consulting, won three life sciences R&D projects totalling €158,060 under the Idėja LT and Intelektas LT+ measures — spanning a functional beverage with amino acids, food supplements, and a medicinal preparation for treating iron-deficiency anaemia.

The challenge

Mogemas operates at the intersection of food and pharma, with two product tracks — a functional beverage and an anaemia treatment preparation derived from animal blood. Both required scientific validation and R&D financing well before commercialisation, and each sat at a different stage of technological maturity.

What we did

ProBaltic Consulting designed a staged funding sequence instead of a single application: a feasibility assessment under Idėja LT first, followed by full R&D projects for both product lines under Intelektas LT+. We prepared the R&D applications and administered the projects.

Why staging works in life sciences

Life sciences R&D carries long timelines and high evidential requirements. The Idėja LT feasibility stage de-risked the science and produced exactly the evidence the subsequent full applications needed — turning one uncertain big bet into three fundable, sequenced projects. This measure-chaining pattern (feasibility → full R&D) remains one of the most reliable strategies for research-intensive SMEs in Lithuania.

The result

Three funded projects across the company’s portfolio: feasibility and R&D for the functional beverage, and development of the food supplements and medicinal preparation targeting iron-deficiency anaemia — €158K of non-dilutive financing carrying the products toward market readiness.
