UAB Frusela is a Lithuanian manufacturer that, together with ProBaltic Consulting, delivered seven EU-funded projects between 2016 and 2023, with €424,397 in approved grants. It is one of our clearest examples of the “measure first, then invest” path: from an energy audit to a solar plant, from production digitalisation to new export markets.

Why the sequence works
Audit first. The 2016 energy audit showed where the company was losing energy and became the basis for the 2017 solar plant investment, cutting electricity costs and the carbon footprint of production. An “audit → investment” link strengthens an application: evaluators see a measured need, not just an intention.
Then production processes. The largest project was a digitalisation investment in 2020 (total project value €489,093) for advanced technology and process improvement.
Markets throughout. Three export projects (2017, 2019, 2023) and staff training show funding was not a one-off: each win strengthened the next application, carrying the company from the 2014–2020 into the 2021–2027 programming period without a gap.
What this means for your company
If you are planning energy-efficiency or renewable-energy investments, start with what can be measured — an energy audit and current costs. That sequence most often opens the way to larger investments and higher application scores.
Planning a similar investment? 1) Enter your company name or code — in 2–3 minutes you will see which open calls fit your company. 2) Discuss the results with a consultant, who will assess your project within 1–2 working days.
