What drove the result

Markets first. In the 2007–2013 period two New Opportunities projects helped the company prepare for larger export volumes and strengthen existing foreign markets.

Energy later. In 2020 a solar energy project for production (€118,816) was funded — the largest of the three. For a large food manufacturer this cuts electricity costs and the carbon footprint of its products, which matters increasingly to international buyers.

Large companies can apply. The measure was open to large companies under state-aid rules, which the application had to justify precisely.

What this means for your company

Food and other manufacturers exporting to EU markets increasingly face buyer questions about energy and emissions. A grant-supported renewable energy investment is one of the fastest ways to answer them.
